Intelligence refers to the ability to learn from experience, think abstractly, and adapt effectively to one's environment—a concept evaluated throughout history using various tests and measures of intelligence quotient (IQ). While early perspectives emphasized a general mental ability (g factor), modern theories advocate for the existence of multiple intelligences—including linguistic, logical, musical, and spatial capacities—or divide intelligence into three components: analytical, creative, and practical.Scientific findings indicate that heredity plays a significant role in determining individual differences in intelligence; however, environmental factors, nutrition, and educational opportunities are also highly influential in shifting societal average scores and fostering potential. Beyond cognitive aspects, emotional intelligence—the ability to accurately perceive and manage emotions—plays a vital role in mental health and success in social relationships. Finally, learning disabilities, which arise from the interplay of biological and environmental factors, come into focus when an individual's mental performance and adaptive life skills fall significantly below average, though early educational interventions can substantially compensate for these limitations.
